A Haunted House
The wind howled through the empty streets as Sarah approached the old, abandoned house. She had heard rumors that it was haunted, but being the daring teenager she was, couldn't resist exploring it. The porch creaked as she stepped on it, and the door groaned loudly as she pushed it open.
Sarah scanned the room, her eyes adjusting to the darkness. Dust swirled in the air, and cobwebs hung from the ceiling. The floors creaked as she made her way through the home. Suddenly, she heard a loud noise from upstairs. Her heart began to race as she climbed the stairs, not knowing what to expect.
As she reached the top, she saw a shadowy figure dart into one of the rooms. Sarah's pulse quickened as she strained to see in the darkness. The room was filled with old antique furniture, most of it covered in dust. Out of nowhere, a cold breeze swept through the room. Sarah shivered, but continued to investigate.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut, startling Sarah. Panic set in as she realized that she was locked inside the room. She tried to open the door, but it was stuck. As she looked around the room, she noticed a message written on the dusty floor: "Get out!"
Strangely, the message was written in a blood-red color. Sarah's heart thumped even faster as she realized that she was not alone in the house. Just then, a ghostly figure appeared before her, hovering in the air. It seemed angry and intent on chasing her down.
Sarah's fear turned to terror as she realized that she may not make it out alive. She ran towards the window, breaking it with her elbow. The cool air rushed against her face as she climbed out, running as fast as her legs would carry her.
After escaping, Sarah never ventured back to the haunted house again. She had learned her lesson the hard way. That house was not meant for the living.
